The movie begins with a bunch of kids doing a smartphone interview of Superman. The cgi removal of Cavill's mustache is distracting.
Batman appears and we get our first look at a parademon and Batman throws down. It's actually done pretty well and even the parademon looks good. I'm beginning to think that isn't going to be as bad.
Then I see Steppenwolf, and wow he looks like a video game character. I honestly want to know where the $250M and $50M for reshoots went.
Just like the trailers, Batman and Wonder Woman begin to assemble the League along with Superman.
Then Batman's plan to defeat Steppenwolf is to bring back Superman.
This movie is okay at best.
There are some highlights.
The "end battle" itself with Steppenwolf was good with somewhat of a lackluster finish. However, the BIG boss fight is something that's kind of lacking in CBM as the only other examples is AOU and Ultron and X-Men vs. Apocalypse. I'm not including one on one with say Cap vs. TWS, Batman vs. Bane, etc.
The battle against Steppenwolf in the past was pretty good seeing all the cameos and a Green Lantern.
Aquaman sitting on Wonder Woman's lasso.
A lot of the dialogue between the characters, I'm guessing is probably Whedon's touches.
I did like the mid and end credits scene .
The bads?
Obviously, the CGI.
The continuity. All these people who were at Clark's funeral in the end help his mom move back to their house with no issues.
To me the film felt uneven and I'm not sure it's because we had 2 different directors.
The story is pretty generic.
Uninteresting villain.
