    The Big Sick (2017)

Kumail (Kumail Nanjiani) is a struggling stand-up comedian living in Chicago. He meets a girl at the club one night named Emily (Zoe Kazan). They fall in love over the course of a few months, until they get in a huge argument over trust issues and break up.

Soon afterwards, Kumail gets a call from her roommate. Emily is sick in the ER, and Kumail is the only one who can currently make sure she's okay. Kumail goes to visit, and is forced to put her into a medically-induced coma to try and fix what is wrong with her.

While he waits for Emily to recover, he spends time with her parents (Holly Hunter and Ray Romano) and they start to bond with each other over the next couple of weeks.

This was a pretty solid movie. It was produced by Judd Apatow, and definitely felt like it could be one of his directorial entries.

I think the funniest parts were with Bo Burnham and Aidy Bryant, Kumail's two friends who are at the comedy club with him all the time.

It was a solid film, a good date movie.

I really enjoyed this. It was weird seeing the actress from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (who is half black/white) playing a Pakistani, but whatever. Solid movie for sure.
