Thread: Dunkirk (2017)

This was a weird little experiment of a movie

I was totally gripped. I say experiment because I can't remember ever seeing a war movie like this. It's more of a ride or experience than a movie. Nobody sits around and talks about their girlfriend back home or how they miss the taste of strawberries, nobody makes any pretentious speeches about war or human nature. You get dropped right into action, and you stay in the action until the credits roll.

I liked it a lot, but I don't know if we were as connected to the characters as we could have been. It's impressive though how connected you are as it is. Especially with Tom Hardy's pilot.

The direction, music, effects, all brilliant
