I watched in imax 3D. I enjoyed it. It wasn't without its flaws though. The opening scene had way too much groot and almost took me out of the movie. I was hoping for some great set piece seeing the team fight together and argue as they normally do instead the joke/skit went on too long. Could have been handled way better, like the team trying to protect groot and keep him from getting killed while fightIng the creature. That would have been perfect and made way more sense.

i think that was probably my biggest gripe. Some of the music didnt flow with the movie as well as the original. Each song on the first movie just felt right for the scene it was being played in. There was one scene where rocket tells krackin (or whatever his name is) to play quills music. Are there copies of his mixtapes around the galaxy? Haha. And the arcade gag was ok. I understood the nod but it felt a bit forced and out of place.

for me the best use of song was when they land on ego's planet to george harrison's my sweet lord.

    i loved
    Spoiler:
the watcher along with the return of howard the duck and seeing egos planet face

It had a right amount of gags and got laughs from the audience. The end credit with ayesha wasnt all that surprising but still pretty cool.

a good continuation to the guardians, its just too bad the first movie was such a great one and really a tough one to follow.

I think the opening Groot scene was suppose to somewhat mirror/echo Starlord in the original movie with him lip syncing and dancing on his way to the orb.

Except quill was alone in a cave, not fighting some tentacle monster. Seeing groot dancing for 5 minutes while all the chaos was happening just felt odd and misplaced. Everything after that was fine.

I loved the Groot opening dance, haha. I thought it was a hilarious to show him rocking out and not showing any of the battle. I've always really loved ELO so I thought the way that song was used was perfect.

I'll give you that some of the songs felt out of place in the context of the scenes, like the song that was used when Yondu blatantly murders his crew (There was a lot of straight up murder in this movie by the way, haha) did flow as well.

i forgot to mention that rocket is still my favorite of the group. The faces he made when talking to groot.
