Smarter or cheaper? Definitely easier to explain.

No I get the metaphor. I guess I wasn't exactly overjoyed when I first saw it.

This movie was super dope. I'm not sure wherected I would put it on a ranking scale, but it might be second, vying for first. I was really drunk when I saw it, haha. I didn't really like Professor X being so crass, it seemed really out of character. As far as the violence...it wasn't that brutal? I was expecting it to be more over the top, but it wasn't anymore violent than any other Wolverine violence, just add a lot more blood and limbs coming off. I too would have been okay if this was PG-13. Ranking for now...

    1. Days of Future Past
    2. Logan
    3. X2
    4. First Class
    5. Deadpool
    6. X-Men
    7. Apocalypse
    8. The Wolverine
    9. The Last Stand
    10. Origins

    I think so.

    Does the plot point that
    Spoiler:
Xavier accidentally killed the rest of the X-Men sour any interest in any movies set between Apocalypse and Logan
    ?

Yeah, I don't think we'll be going back into the time between DOFP and Logan. I mean that would involve the whole original Singer cast.

Sounds like they're going to keep going with the Apocalypse cast and do Phoenix.

i think dofp resolved that arc and that part of the x-men team. We have a new cast of cyclops/jean gray/beast and storm. Im not exactly confident theyll be able to handle the phoenix/dark phoenix saga properly. Just seems like itd be too expensive to get even 50% of the story into movie and if they decided to cut all the space parts and keep it on earth itd feel cheap and cheated for not getting a good adaptation.

You spent 137 issues getting to know Jean and Scott in the comic books only for not just teammates but family take down one of their own. Apocalypse barely glossed over that and now we are looking at a new movie that suppose to capture the heart of those issues with little build up.
