    Start All The Downloading

What is the best way to download youtube videos?
I looked online and saw Brad saying brand Q was the best.
Then Tina said brand Q installs fine, but waits till the first update to put the viruses and toolbars on your computer, so never use Q, use Z.
Then Tony said brand Z is too slow, just use the firefox add-on.
Then someone said the firefox add-on fucked up his computer.
I usually just get stuff from cnet, but people bitched about trouble they had from cnet-acquired stuff, also, cnet stuff labeled "free", but really it's a trial.

I saw no one I trusted and no two people agreed on any method.
I want to put youtube quotes into music and store weird videos before people breakdown and delete their channels.

I use keepvid.com. It probably downloads all sorts of awesome pornography onto my PC, but whatever.

I want both, video for posterity, audio for putting D&D Nerd quotes into songs.
Anything known to safely work well for either purpose would make me happy.

Honestly best thing to do is drive to youtube HQ with a flash drive and download it directly off their servers. Anything else will be of downgraded quality and may compromise your firewall's integrity.

That's what I was afraid of, but it makes sense.

No but when you've spent like over $10,000 on computers, it's like your computer is your daughter and every download is a dude who's trying to date your daughter.

If you want to be very safe Roddy, you could record your monitor using your iPhone, then email yourself the recorded video, download it to your computer, and then use Audacity to extract the audio.

Yeah, but its the easiest way. If you don't want to do that, get something like audacity for only audio recording and livestream procaster for both audio/video. You would have to watch the entire video to record it.

Or keepvid.com. I really can't think of any issues I've ever had from using it. Its probably fine.
