    the trick i used to use, which cannot (to my knowledge) be reproduced virtually, was to shrink and then blow-up the image on a photocopier machine a few times (like feeding the photocopies back in, enlarging them, then feeding THAT photocopy in, shrinking it). That would smooth out the edges but also add weird unexpected crinkles and blobs. made it feel oldschool.

    As usual, you put a picture in photobucket and hit the ghey "Story" button which blows it up behind itself and it looks extra -

    Yeah, I'll never find it, but in the olden times, being in Rock bands, we lived at Kinko's, making flyers, and there was a phase where we also made Dadaist flyers and hung them up all over town, and on one of them, I wrote down this really bad real life secret that could get people killed if it ever came out, inside a square, and I did that to it, and it looked cooler than this of course, but it ended up similar to this:

    and I got off on the fact that there was this ultimate sigil of danger hanging all over the place in plain sight but no one except for like 3 people, would ever know what it meant.
