    Netflix Suggestion Thread

Most of us have this right?

Netflix has a terrible layout and even worse categories. And lets face it, the stream selection is crap.

But there are those random gems. Something you saw when wasted at 2am. Some horror flick that deserved more attention. Maybe even something... ugh... foreign.

Help out a fellow DKB member.

    Suggest.

    SUGGEST.

Yes, I loved Aliens. Pretty good chance I loved it because of Sigourney's maternal power, so sling some Erin Brockovich my way. Brilliant system.

    Doesn't count.

    And I didn't do a search.

    It really is.

You watched Arrested Development? Well, here are some other "witty comedies" such as The 18 Year Old Virgin and The Wash.

One of the categories I have is "Dark Foreign Fight The System Movies".

    This is becoming very specific.

    Superstarlet A.D.
    - whoa

Survivors (BBC TV Series) - Watch the fuck out of these 2 seasons so we can grit our teeth together over how there will never be a 3rd. So amazingly good, fuck.

THX-1138 - I have no idea what happened to George Lucas. This is one of the best films ever made.

The Bed Sitting Room - I saw this on TV when I was a kid and it was exactly as bizarre as I remembered. Life-shaping for me.

Warrior of the Lost World - lol....I'd live here too. I want to make a video game like this.

Zardoz - Why do they even make movies anymore?

    WTF?

American Raspberry - like an unfunny, slightly dirty Mad magazine come to life...dripping with oily 70's

Black Sun: the Nanking Massacre -

CSA: Confederate States of America - They made this.

Crash Masters: Taoism Drunkard - Changed my life. Wish I could still drink wine. This'll make you want to drink gallons of cheap wine.

    Nothing but Trouble - I....

    Philosophy of a Knife
    - gross but an oddity

Precious Bas on the Nol by Safire
    - I wept for her, watching the obese Black girl tearing down the street eating the fried chicken she stole. So tragic.

Shinbone Alley - You can't...make, cartoons like this.

Space Precinct - Holy Fuck. How?

    Troll 2 - duh

    Up the Academy - wtf?

    Vampires in Havana
    - Did I dream this?

Vermillion Pleasure Night - a Japanese 90's Laugh-In only not as coherent and funny and tame as Laugh-In and on stronger drugs/brain damage

Wife To Be Sacrificed - khhh, people act like "Torture Porn" is some kind of new menace, bespeaking our moral decline. This is so old and it is way worse than most movies today...as the guy gives girls weird giant chemical enemas and watches as they struggle not to, release...the, weird fluid...etc.

    MUNDANE MOVIES I LIKE

Children of the Revolution - I love Judy Davis. I started getting into T.Rex and then this came out, to the theater where I worked. I watched this every day. It is weird.

Midnight Express - Somehow I got to see this on TV I think, when I was a little kid. Maybe that contributed to my fucked-upness.

    Red - Rully good. Acting..

Shall We Dance? - magical - I, Wilhelm, should not like a light slapstick dramedy about a Japanese business guy who takes dancing lessons 'cause he has a crush on the instructor, but I love it a lot.

    Sling Blade - the greatest

The Spitfire Grill - I was in love with the chick in this. I can't believe the ending.

    The Sweet Hereafter
    - so good, the mood, getting sucked into this little town - See Sarah Polley singing a song that haunts me with it's mood to this minute.

    ANIMATED

    Fire And Ice
    - *Homer Drool* They had this but it wouldn't work and it finally works.

Fritz The Cat - I think i actually like the sequel better.

    The Plague Dogs
    - Incredible, ambitious, serious, dark, adult talking dogs movie.

Resident Evil: Degeneration - This is entertaining because the faces are so fucked up and bizarre. They can CG render anything but a talking face.

    Star Trek: Animated
    - Solves sleep disorders perfectly.

    WELL-KNOWN BUT GLAD THEY'RE INSTANT

    Antichrist

    Best in Show

Close encounters of the Third Kind

    Hobo With A Shotgun

    The Jerk

    Little Shop of horrors (1960)

    Poltergeist 2

    Prince of Darkness

    Time Bandits

    Waiting for Guffman

    eXistenZ

    RETRO TRASH
    (highly recommended)

    Black Belt Jones

    Combat Shock

    Switchblade Sisters

    THE REST

A Bit of Fry and Laurie: Season 3, Episode 1 - watch the musical number "You You You" lololol

    Black Dynamite
    - I was impressed.

Lunopolis - fake sci-fi/conspiracy documentary, huge scope, zero budget, neat ideas, still crappy of course, but fun to watch on a weekend with cereal.

Return in Red - 8 hours of a small town doing chores and small-talking until mind blowing violence breaks out in the last few minutes, love how 70's it feels and it was filmed on sweet molasses.

Return of the Living Dead 3 - way better than I thought it'd be...It's not worthy of the name, but on it's own, it's cool, feels 80's

The Wild Hunt - Not another LARP documentary (so ultimately I was disappointed), but a drama, serious drama, about LARPERS who get way outta hand. Hahaha Surprisingly well done.

Don't watch Plague Dogs unless you're okay with being depressed for a couple of days. Absolutely haunting yet beautifully made film.
