Tales of the Malazan Book of the fallen. it's advanced fantasy compared to other things, some recognizeable conventions while also startingly expansive and refreshing at the same time. ten books each around 600-1200 pages long.

Just finished Book II. Super easy reading, wholly predictable, but really quite fun.

Read American Gods by Neil Gaiman.

Or Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk.

Really, anything by Palahniuk.

I mean, at this stage I haven't read a whole Philip K. Dick book but I got this for christmas from my girlfriend and have been skimming some of the novels inside. He is a great writer.

I think this one may only be available in the UK though.

the movie is coming out next year and has a pretty nice cast so far: Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, etc.

I'd say Sherlock Holmes novels are a fantastic read. Currently reading 'The sign of the four' the second novel by Conan Doyle and it's a brilliant yet short read.
