View Full Version : Fantasy Supergroups

Like fantasy sports, but with 99% more Wilhelm interest.

Here are the rules, the group has to have been physically/cosmically possible. Meaning, all the members you choose have to have been alive and making music at the same time. Basically, you can't have Elvis in a band with Justin Bieber. See?

A serious choice,

The Plastic Bonzo Experience

John Lennon- guitars/vocals
John Bonham- drums
Jimi Hendrix- guitars/vocals

My dream comedic event,

The New Rat Pack

Eddie Vedder
Scott Stapp
Chad Kroeger

Oh the sweet sweet crooning :inlove:

Your serious choice has too many chefs in the kitchen. Good topic tho.

John got along with Paul so long, he probably could have gotten along with Jimi until he kicked it.

Unfortunately David Bowie was terribly jealous of Jimmy Pages Black Magic powers.
They got into a big fight because Jimmy attended a party at David Bowies house and spilled a glass of wine on David Bowies brand new white couch and then they put curses on each other and had a wizard duel. If only they hadn't ended up mystical rivals, Bowie and Jimmy probably would have ended up working together.
But that's always been a big fantasy band of mine:

David Bowie - voice
Jimmy Page - God
John Bonham - God
Chris Squire - Bass

This never would have happened. Chris Squire would have hated those guys and Bowie would have tried to give chubby Bonham a make over and Bonham would have said, "FaWk Awf ya grreat CUNT!" and then raped him.

Another Dream Band
Marc Bolan - voice/guitar
Jimmy Page - God
Kenny Passarelli - bass
Phil Collins - drums

80's Dream band:
David Bowie - voice
Jimmy Page - God
Tony Thompson - drum slamming
Brian Eno - other things

Crazy Art Punk Dream Band
Mike Watt - bass/voice
D. J. Bonebrake - drums
Adrian Belew - guitar

70's Prog Dream Band
Ian Anderson - voice and hardly any flute
Steve Morse - guitar
Allen Sloan - violin, viola
Chris Squire - bass again
Bill Bruford - drumz

Bald Dream Band
Reeves Gabrels - guitar
Chris Slade - drums
Tony Levin - bass
Peter Gabriel - voice

Wouldn't Work Musically, Dream Band Just For Looking At
70's Ann Wilson - voice
70's Nancy Wilson - bass
70's Lita Ford - guitar
70's Belinda Carlisle - drums (She played drums for The Germs in 1977.)

I could do these all day. I've got to go.

Phil Collins with Jimmy Page is cool, wouldn't have thought of that.

Paul McCartney - vocals, anything he wants to play
Denny Laine - former lead singer from the Moody Blues. Remember that song Go Now? Awesome song. He would be good in a band.
Linda McCartney - moral support

i think they could be even better than The Beatles

The early Robert Plant solo albums have some stuff that is as, can I type this? that is as good...as Led? Zeppelin?...and only later did I learn that Phil Collins played the drums on them. He was heavy as fuck-wicked before he committed Sussudio, etc.
I'm thinking of:

Another band, The Underdogs

Mike Love- vocals
Ringo Starr- drums
John Paul Jones- bass
Brian Jones- guitar

This would never work, but

The Dead White Keys

Jack White- guitars/piano/organ/vocals
Dan Auerbach- guitars/vocals
Patrick Carney- drums
Jack Lawrence- bass

David Gilmour - guitar/vocals

07-04-2012, 06:02 PM
Heh, just filming the practice sessions with Fripp, Squire and Gilmour would make a great reality show, but there'd only be 2 episodes.

Wilhelm's Nightmare

Chris Martin- vocals, piano, spinning around
Santana- guitars
Pete Wentz- bass
Meg White- drums (with breast reduction)

07-07-2012, 07:34 AM
At least you didn't have the dude from Creed on vocals

07-07-2012, 07:38 AM
Greatsword - Eddard Stark
Bow - Legolas
Hammer - Perrin Aybara
Wand - Harry Potter
